Information on the Competition


Third Piano Competition Cycle 
2010

The Competition provides a cross-referencing of all elements of Piano Performance expressed through the great pianists of all ages and nationalities.

Professional Pianists, Pedagogues, Doctoral Candidates and exceptional Pianists of all ages are invited to participate in the Third World International Competition.

 

Steps in the Competition

 

I. For application and the greatest world-wide scope and coverage, pianists will be sought, utilizing a 20-minute audio mp3 file upload application, or audio CDs by mail.  


II. From these applications, a selection of 20-30 Semi-Finalists will submit a CD of 30 minutes in length.

 
III. From the Semi-Finalists, approximately 10 Finalists will be Chosen to submit a CD of 45 minutes in length.


IV. Approximately Three Winners will be chosen.

 

All applicants will receive an honorary award certificate for participation in The World International Piano Competition.

Applicants scoring 80 percent or above will be considered to enter as Semi-Finalists.

Adjudications are by esteemed International Pianists and Pedagogues of renown.

All composers and standard works of the repertoire may be represented. (Single Movements are acceptable.)
